With the purpose of being a company thatoffers strategic solutions to the world, the SPM Couros created the system forthe traceability of their leathers: the SPM Tracking, which aims to show theworld the sustainability of leather and that its origin comes from regions thatare fully monitored, bringing transparency and information that generate valuefor the leather industry.

What is SPM Tracking?

SPM Tracking is a leather traceability tool through which it is possible to consult the origin of the leather, from the farm to the industry that generates the final product. It is a guarantee of quality and origin for the industry and the final consumer.

Every step is monitored

The monitoring of leathers is carried out fromthe farm where the cattle originate, passing through the meat packing, thetannery that processes the hides, and SPM Couros, which directs the leathers totheir clients. After this stage, the client can either industrialize theleathers or SPM Couros itself can finish the leathers, selling them to theindustry that will produce the leather articles.

Step 01

Farm of Origin of Cattle

In this step we present the information of the farm, as well as the number of the Animal Transit Guide (GTA), which validates and gives reliability to all this information.

Step 02

Meat processors

At this stage, we receive the slaughter scale, which contains the GTA number, along with the Invoice of the slaughterhouse. With this information we create a batch number that will track the hides to SPM Couros.

Step 03

Tannery

At this stage, the hides are received from the slaughterhouse, at the Tannery, and marked with the batch number, enabling effective traceability. At this stage the hides are transformed into tanned leather.

Step 04

SPM Couros

At this stage, the hides are received from the tannery by SPM Couros, at which time they are classified and directed according to commercial guidelines. At this stage, hides can be marketed in different ways depending on customer demand and interests.

Step 05

Leather Goods Industry

At this stage, the industries receive all the information about the hides so that they can use traceability in their products.

Batch controls

Marking of leathers: All leathers are markedwith the lot number on both sides of the head (see picture on the side, marksin red)

1st Digit: Indicates the Year in which it wasproduced.
2nd Digit: Indicates the TANNERSHIP itproduced.
3rd Digit: Indicates the MEAT PACKING wherethe skins came from.
4th and 5th Digits: Indicate the WEEK OF THEYEAR in which the slaughter took place.
6th Digit: Indicates the DAY OF THE WEEK onwhich the slaughter took place.

Controlled origin

All our suppliers whose hides are being monitored and traced are located in the Southern Region of Brazil. All respect the laws of Animal Welfare, as well as the laws of Nature Preservation.

Simple to use

The webpage with information on the origin ofthe leather will automatically open. The information collected is made available on a webpage accessible through a QR Code that accompanies the leather sales invoice. Just scan the QR Code with your mobile device to have instant access to the webpage and get all this information.
